Dress Your Kids for Nature in Merino Wool

Posted by on 2/15/2016
One of the best ways to spend time with your kids is to be out in nature together, enjoying some fresh air and the great outdoors.  It can be challenging, though, to outfit your children in clothing that will keep them warm, feel soft on their skin, and will not spark their allergies.  Dressing your kids in 100% merino wool takes care of all these issues, allowing you to relax and enjoy quality time with your family.
Excellent Heat Regulation
On those cold fall and winter walks, the most important thing is to keep your kids warm.  All-natural merino wool is inherently temperature-controlled, especially when it is worn right next to the skin, and wraps your precious children in a warm cocoon while they’re out in the cold.  The fabric is also excellent at wicking, which is the process of drawing moisture away from a person’s skin.  This means that parents can allow their children to really run around and have fun without worrying about the possibility of sweat freezing against their kids’ skin.  Light rain is not a problem either, as merino will repel some moisture.
Soft and Comfortable
Making sure your kids are warm enough may be your highest priority, but for them comfort is the biggest concern.  As many parents know, kids hate to wear anything that is too scratchy on their skin.  Merino wool, unlike other animal textiles, is soft and silky to the touch because its individual fibers are very small in diameter.  Parents will not have to worry about their kids complaining of itchy clothes when they’re dressed in merino wool.
Hypoallergenic and Antibacterial Properties
As is the case with most wool, merino fabrics are hypoallergenic.  In addition, merino wool contains lanolin, which is known to have antibacterial properties.  This makes merino fabric cleaner than most other types of textiles—and as all parents can attest, anything that helps keep kids clean is a lifesaver!
The next time you’re shopping for new hiking or outdoor wear for your kids, take a look at merino wool products.  They’re a great way to keep your children warm and cozy on your next family outing.
