Pocket Leggings

Very comfortable, fit great.

These leggings are amazing! I worry about wool base layers because my skin is prone to eczema and dryness in the winter, but these haven't bothered me. They are soft and cozy and the high waist is extra wonderful. It is the main reason I ordered from Simply Merino instead of some other popular companies. I have merino layers from at least one other company and they are not nearly as soft. These are worth every penny I paid for them and I can't wait until my size is back in stock so I can order another pair (or 2!). I ordered true to the size chart and the fit is as expected. To be honest I've worn them as a base layer under pants and skirts 4 times since I opened the package and haven't needed to wash them yet. I'm writing this review in December 2024 and whatever issues the company must have had with the ankle/waist openings and pockets must be resolved because these are perfect. I'm a curvy person and early in pregnancy and the waistband holds the leggings up without any constriction at all.

I am normally an XL in every brand of wool leggings (WoolX, Wool&, Woolly, etc.) so that's what I ordered. The waist/hip was so tight I could barely get them on. I returned them and got an XXL and they were loose in the waist and baggy in the legs. I kept them because return shipping is so expensive but I'm really not very happy with them. Plus I wish the color was a bit more plum and a bit less brown.

I now have two pair since these came out! After wearing the first pair for a week straight I knew I'd need another in rotation.
They are so cozy and comfortable.
The material is thicker than the og legging so you can wear them as pants if you like (the og style is partially see through but still perfect for under layers or with dresses etc).
They are also warmer than the og style which is great for winter in the north. Super comfy for hiking.

Cons (very minor cons):
- ankle hem is not very stretchy so arranging over socks is a bit more difficult and hiking/pulling the leg up your calf is not really possible.
Ideally it would be sewn with a more forgiving stitch to allow the full stretch of the fabric (seamstress here ;) )
- pockets are sort of low for me (I'm 5'4") and pretty floppy for anything heavier (phone flops around. Cards or key are just fine)

Waist 33in. Hip 43". Size lg legging. I like the overall fit.
