Comfort Meets Sustainability

Merino wool is a renewable resource, making it one of the most sustainable fabrics available. With access to grass and water, their fleece naturally regenerates each year, providing a continuous and sustainable source.

Feel good about dressing your family in Simply Merino

Temperature Regulating

Merino wool naturally insulates in the cold by trapping air and keeps you cool in the heat by absorbing and releasing moisture.

Incredibly Soft

Merino wool is soft because its ultra-fine fibers—typically 18–24 microns—are smoother and gentler against the skin than regular wool.

Machine Washable

Merino wool’s naturally crimped fibers and smooth surface help it retain shape and resist shrinking, especially when washed gently with cool water and a wool-safe detergent.

Wicks Away Moisture

Merino wool keeps you dry by wicking moisture away from your skin and absorbing it into the fibers without feeling wet.

Hypoallergenic

Merino wool naturally wicks moisture and resists bacteria and dust mites, helping reduce allergen buildup.

Naturally Fire Resistant

Merino wool is naturally fire-resistant, thanks to its keratin-rich fibers and moisture content, which cause it to smolder rather than ignite.

Durable

Merino wool is durable because its fine, strong fibers are naturally elastic, allowing them to bend without breaking.

Biodegradable

Merino wool is fully biodegradable—cut it into small pieces and compost in soil, where it naturally breaks down within 12 months and enriches the earth.

No elastic waist - stitches ripped first time I put them on

I have the high-waisted swim bottoms in a size small and didn’t have any issues whatsoever pulling those over my hips, because of their elastic waist. But the swim bottoms are too thick to use as underwear so I ordered these, also in a size small, without realizing it said “no elastic” in the description. The stitching on the waist seam broke in several places the first time I tried to pull them on. Sure, I’m what you’d consider a bit curvy with hips, but as I mentioned, no issues with the Small in the swim bottoms or in any other brand (I’m a Small with Understance as well). I can’t comprehend why underwear this expensive wouldn’t be finished properly with an elastic waist and leg openings, so that you can order your true size and pull them up over your hips without ripping the seams. If I ordered a Medium they’d be too big for me everywhere else, and wouldn’t sit properly in my waist. For reference my waist is 26” and hips at widest part 38”.
Once they’re on they sit perfectly everywhere, but now with broken seams it’s kinda pointless because they will start to roll.
This is the only Simply Merino purchase I’ve been dissatisfied with, and I’ve bought a lot past few years.

Too small, too thin, and not able to exchange for an item with a better fit

I loved this color and really wanted the swim bottoms in this color, but they were sold out, so I gave the high waisted underwear a try. The material of these underwear is much thinner than the swimwear, which I didn’t realize until I could see and feel them in person. I was pretty frustrated that after trying them on over my own underwear and immediately realizing they were a no go, that I could not send them back to exchange for an item that I could actually wear. Fortunately, I was able to sell them on a buy, sell trade group, so I wasn’t out too much money, but I definitely will not try ordering underwear from this company again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I store my wool?

If you are not wearing your wool regularly, we recommend storing it in a cedar chest or in a sealed Ziploc bag.

How should I wash my wool?

Always wash your wool on a delicate cycle with a gentle detergent. Never use bleach.

How do I know what size to order?

Each product page contains a Size Chart to help you select the correct size based on body measurements. If you need any additional sizing information, please reach out to our customer service team. We know that online shopping can sometimes be frustrating, and we are always here to help!

Do moths really eat wool?

Moth and other bugs do like to nibble on most natural fibers, wool included. If you suspect you have moths, we recommend washing your wool, air dry, then freeze to kill any eggs that may be present. Storing your wool properly will prevent damage from bugs.

Our Fall/Winter collection gets fully restocked in September, while our Spring/Summer collection restocks in April. Small restocks are done throughout the year.
